We love hosting Christmas Events at Iris & Dora…

Our tutors are all experienced crafters and creators in their own right so you know that you will have the best advice and guidance but we also know just how to make the workshop fun and relaxed and even the most craft-averse guest comfortable.

We can cater for groups of 10 up to 60 guests and workshops can run from as little as 90 minutes up to a whole day.

Can’t decide on a single activity? No problem! We have the flexibility to combine up to three different activities concurrently, contingent on staff availability and a minimum of 8 participants per activity

We charge £60 studio fee plus £24 per guest, per activity and can run these either at our Main Studio (10 – 16 persons) or our Town Hub (10 – 24 person), for larger groups or for multiple activitites we charge £250 studio take-over fee at our Main Studio (10 – 60 persons)

If you prefer, we can come to your workplace or a venue of your choice, for this we charge an out of studio fee of £150 plus £24 per person per activity.

Soap on a Rope – Wet Felting

Moreover, felted soaps are another fantastic option for preserving soap and preventing sogginess in your soap dish. They offer a gentle exfoliating effect and make for unique gifts, all while providing a fun and relaxing crafting experience.

In this workshop, each participant will have the opportunity to try wet felting merino wool onto pre-roped soap, creating an array of vibrant patterns.

Christmas Tree Hanging Decorations – Ceramic

Join us for an engaging ceramic workshop where you’ll discover simple techniques to craft patterns and textures in clay. We offer an extensive array of cutters and stamps, ranging from timeless holiday motifs, delightful flowers, letters, to dinosaurs.

This workshop promises a wealth of enjoyment as you explore the art of clay. As your creations begin to dry, we’ll guide you through the glazing process, showcasing various colors and providing samples for you to select from. Afterward, your finished pieces will undergo the firing process and will be available for collection approximately two weeks later.

Hand-made Christmas Card – Linocut

Discover the art of crafting your own linocut Christmas cards in this holiday-themed workshop!

Learn the intricacies of linocutting, creating a design in either one or two colors, depending on the available time.

Linocut, a traditional relief printing method, involves taking a print from the surface of a linoleum block. In this engaging workshop, you will be introduced to the essential tools, equipment, and materials required to begin your block printing journey.

Together as a group, we will progress through the creative phases of designing and meticulously carving your festive motif onto lino, followed by printing process using one of our hand presses.

Upon completing the workshop, you’ll walk away with a set of 6 exquisitely crafted Christmas cards and matching envelopes, ready to spread holiday cheer to your loved ones.

All necessary tools and materials will be supplied, making this workshop highly interactive. Every step will be clearly demonstrated as you follow along, fostering a supportive and convivial atmosphere to enhance your learning experience.
