During this 30 minute session you will get a brief induction, a go on the wheel and time to tidy up your space at the end. One of our experienced potters as part of a small group. During this session, you will just get used to the feel of the clay and how it moves on the wheel. The focus on this activity is familiarising yourself with the studio process, and how to operate the pottery wheel rather than producing useable pieces.
If you do make a piece that you would like to keep, you have the option of drying and dipping it into one of our studio glazes and having it fired for a cost of £10.
What’s included in the price?
1/2 kilo of soft earthenware clay.
Induction plus 15 minutes pottery wheel session with one of our experienced potters and time to clean up your workspace at the end.
What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable clothing that you are relaxed about getting messy. We recommend trousers as you’ll sit close to the wheel as you throw. No open toed shoes please.
Please ensure long hair is tied back, jewellery, watches, long necklaces, scarves etc are removed. Please note that it is very difficult to throw pots with long nails.
